Commonly called sugar pear. Yellow brown fruit with pale russet and red russet cheek. Smooth, extremely sweet, very juicy flesh. Distinctive, spicy, rich, aromatic flavor. Excellent dessert pear. Ideal for pickling, spicing, and canning whole. Self-fertile but benefits from cross-pollination. Ripens in early September.
